With freezing temperatures throughout the start the year the lake has once again been frozen for a few days last month, but despite this when it has been clear and a bit milder there have been a few fish caught mostly small common and mirror carp up to around 5lb.
Most popular baits have been maggots, corn and pellets with small dumbell boilies of various flavours and colours also accounting for a few fish.
Members are reminded that all membership money for the 2013 – 2014 year needs to be paid asap as there will be a limited number of spaces going to new people due to a waiting list that was put in place from last year. If you have not yet paid call Stephen or call at the fishery to secure your place.
Stephen with his new toy Elaine bought him to keep him warm at night and to help remind him of what it’s like to hold a big carp!! (it’s been a while!)
Great first carp on maggots
Thomas Proudfoot got his first common carp
