ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL YEAR AT IVY LODGE
That’s another year over and lots more personal bests achieved thank you all for your continued trade and support.
2015 was a bit of a cold one though it didn’t spoil the fishing with good steady sport all year. The fish have done really well this year and the average size carp is now 4-5 lb when considering that those fish were stocked only 3-4 years ago at 2-3 inches they really are thriving and are all in great condition. There were a few doubles out this year up to 14lb and a lot of 8-9lb fish were also caught this year which hopefully by the summer should all be doubles which will make for great sport. Considering the cold summer we had the Carp managed to find a few good days to spawn successfully (see June update) and we are now seeing large shoals off small carp in the lake which in a few years’ time you will all be catching. All in all the future is looking bright for Ivy Lodge. Let’s hope spring comes early and that summer 2016 is a lot warmer looking forward to seeing you all out on the bank.
We are open right through the holidays apart from Christmas Day (I need one day off a year and more importantly Elaine would kill me lol).
Once again thank you for your trade and support throughout the year, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you all (even pike anglers lol) a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from everyone at Ivy Lodge.
Please remember be sensible like me over the festive period (as anyone who knows me will verify) and don’t drink and eat too much lol.
