Fishery Rules
MAIN LAKE RULES
Membership is by Invitation ONLY.
Membership entitles you access to the fishery, if you wish to fish then a day ticket is required.
Ivy Lodge Carp Fishery operates a strict Catch and Release Policy. No fish to be harmed or killed.
Persons fishing at the fishery do so at their own risk. We cannot be held responsible for any accident and/or injury to anglers or their possessions, however caused, whilst on the premises. It is the angler’s responsibility to ensure they are protected and are aware of the dangers of fishing before entering the fishery.
The Fishery will remain open all year round although at spawning time we will close for a few days members will be notified via our social media.
Please respect the lake, its wildlife, inhabitants and other anglers.
Fishery Unhooking mats and Nets must be used at all times please keep these damp with fresh water at all times. No fish to be retained unless they are damaged and contact me as soon as possible if this is the case.
All fish must be unhooked in the mat provided. If you wish to weigh or photograph a fish please place the mat on the grass between or behind the pegs keeping the fish low to the ground and above the mat at all times.
NEVER HOLD A FISH STANDING UP.
Everything must be set up (camera, scales etc.) before lifting the fish from the water. All fish should be returned as quickly as possible.
Trolleys are available please return these once you have left your gear on your chosen peg.
Toilets are available in the car park please use it (NOT THE BANKS) and keep it clean.
A two rod limit applies at all times – all rods to be fished from the same swim and must be on a good sturdy bank stick or pod set-up.
All alarms must be kept turned down to a minimum only you need to hear them.
No poles or light feeder rods on main lake. Rods should be at least 2LB TC.
BARBLESS HOOKS ONLY. Minimum hook size 10 and maximum size 6.
Minimum breaking strain line of 10lb.
Carp safe rigs only. No leaders or Leadcore. Rig tubing is recommended.
If you catch the trees please inform us so we can remove it.
Good quality bait only coming from our own shop or other reputable companies.
No nuts, homemade boilies or particles.
Please take all litter home including cigarette butts and excess line.
All Bivvys, Day shelters or umbrellas must be placed on the stones not on the grass. The same applies to using a stove or bbq.
No trees or bushes to be cut. No Fires, loud music or pets.
No reserving of swims.
No entry to the premises before 8am unless arranged 24hrs in advance.
Tickets run from 8am till dusk. During summer months all anglers to be left the premises by 10pm.
All under 16’s must be accompanied at all times.
Day tickets will be charged at £10. Evening tickets available and start 4 hours before fishery closes and will be charged at £5. Closing time is displayed beside shop.
Night fishing (for night members only) charged at £20 per 24hrs and must be booked in advance. Max of 6 anglers per night and max stay 48hrs.
Junior Tickets available (16 and under) £5 per day. £2.50 per evening.
All junior anglers to be accompanied by a responsible adult of at least 21 years.
Guest tickets available @ £15 per day only 1 guest ticket is available per day on a first come first serve basis, if you book in a guest and they don’t show you will still be charged.
When ordering food from our breakfast menu (see below) please try and let us know the night before and on busy mornings please understand that we have a family to look after as well as cooking your food and we will get orders out as quickly as possible.
The highest standard of behaviour is expected at all times and anyone disregarding these rules will be banned from the fishery without refund.
NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL. Anyone found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be BANNED.
You may fish either lake on the same ticket but if moving lakes please pack up on the other one.
WILLOW POND RULES
Fishing from designated pegs only.
1 ROD / POLE per angler. No rods / poles to be left unattended.
Minimum breaking strain line 4LB.
BARBLESS HOOKS ONLY. Maximum hook size 12 and minimum 18.
All fish above hand size must be netted.
No keepnets.
Good quality bait only coming from our own shop or other reputable companies.
A coarse fishing rod licence is required by law for each coarse fishing rod used by anyone over 12 years of age in the DAERA area.
A DAERA coarse fishing rod licence entitles the holder to use two coarse rods. (2 x Rods Maximum allowed at Ivy Lodge Carp Fishery Main Lake ONLY Per Angler)

DAERA Coarse Rod Licence Prices 2023
All Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) rod licences in the table below are valid from January to December when fishing for coarse only.
Coarse species of fish include pike, bream, roach, perch, carp, tench and rudd.

*If anglers wish to use more than two rods they must buy another rod licence. Anglers are only allowed one concessionary season coarse rod licence. It is an offence to have more than one concessionary licence in any calendar year.
What you need to go fishing legally
To fish legally in Northern Ireland you need both a rod licence plus a permit or day ticket. The permit/ day ticket gives the angler permission to fish in the chosen water. You cannot buy a permit/ day ticket without a rod licence.
