IVY LODGE HEATS UP
Spring has finally arrived and what a wonderful time of year this is everything is greening up and coming back to life. The fishery is alive with wildlife and you will all be pleased to hear that we have 2 mallard nesting on the island at the moment who love floating pellets lol (torture).
The water is now starting to warm and with the stretch in daylight hours the fish are starting to move around a lot more and the fishing has been good. We have plenty of good catch reports coming in and regular stunning low doubles getting caught on a variety of tactics. With some of the nicest and healthiest fish in the country Ivy Lodge looks set to have its best season yet.
Unfortunately the old barbed hook problem has showed its face again anyone who was here at the netting will have seen first-hand the damage they cause to fish I have also found barbed hooks on the pegs as you all know we have a lot of children fishing here who like all children pick up stones and play around. I do not want to see a child getting hurt and ending up in casualty or for Suzie to end up in the vets to get a hook removed because of some idiots who think they know better.
I will be taking a zero tolerance approach to this rule it’s BARBLESS ONLY (that does not mean micro-barb) barbed/micro-barbed hooks should not be brought on site and anyone who thinks otherwise will be banned.
Can all members please be aware that we are approaching spawning season this is a very stressful time for the fish so when the fish are spawning we ban fishing in the margins and on the surface until they have finished please respect this decision.
DATES FOR THE DIARY.
Willow pond will be opening on Easter Saturday the 15th April just like the main lake its first come first serve. It is well stocked with Rudd, Roach, Bream, Carp, Tench and a few orfe and ghosties.

YOU MAY ONLY FISH / SET-UP ON ONE LAKE AT A TIME
You may fish either lake on the same ticket but if you decide to change lakes throughout the day please pack up and move you cannot leave your tackle on the other lake taking up a peg this is to keep it fair for everyone as its first come first serve on both lakes. Also no fishing both at the same time.
We will only be allowing our new cereal pellets to be fed on this lake that means no groundbait or any other feed other than the usual maggot, sweetcorn etc.
All hookbaits are fine within reason and if you are not sure please ask.
I have kept the price of these feed pellets very low and affordable for everyone @ £2.25 per kg or 5kg for £10 these are also great for the main lake and what we are now feeding the fish in both lakes on.
We have mats and nets designated for this lake which can be found beside the lake these are for Willow Pond only. If you wish to switch lakes please return these and get the mats and nets beside the shop for the main lake and vice versa.
